Women writers have always been a joy for me, and there’s something especially compelling about how they capture internal monologues that can be tricky to convey. Erica Schultz does this masterfully, combining wit and calculated storytelling to draw in readers of all kinds. She nails that dynamic perfectly in this comic.

Of course, the action doesn’t disappoint either—Elektra’s agility brings back fond memories of the Tomb Raider games. The story also features some great cameos, giving readers a peek into what other vigilantes, heroes, and villains are up to. Crossbones gets what’s coming to him, and Silvermane—new to me—finds himself tangled in shady business. A surprise guest at the end will absolutely leave you stunned.

The artwork by Michael Dowling and Dee Cunniffe is gorgeous, adding depth to the narrative in all the right places. This comic is part of the Daredevil: Woman Without Fear series (issues 1, 2, and 3, released in 2022) and continues from Daredevil #11. While it’s part of a larger arc, it holds up well on its own. With my limited background knowledge of the series, I’d rate it a solid 7/10.

P.S. Billy Club Sais—new favorite weapon!
